DESCRIPTION:The annual State of Uptown luncheon convenes Uptown's business\, development and non-profit community to hear from city officials about how their work impacts our community.\n\n\n\nThis year we are pleased to welcome keynote speaker Carole Morey\, CTA Chief Planning Officer as well as 46th Ward Alderman James Cappleman\, 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar\, and 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman. \n\n\n\n$25 - Chamber Members (contact Chamber staff for discount code)\n\n$30 - General Admission\n\n\n\nONLINE TICKET SALES WILL CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY\, MAY 2 AT 5:00 PM.  Based on availability\, we will be selling tickets for $35 at the door.  \n\n\n\nTicket includes event admission and lunch (vegetarian options will be provided).  \n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER:\n\nSince 2014\, Carole has served as the CTA's Chief Planning Officer\, leading the strategic planning\, service planning\, service scheduling\, ridership analysis and real estate functions for the agency. She led the planning effort for the $2.1 Billion Red Purple Modernization Phase One Core Capacity Project through grant of a $957 Million Full Funding Grant Agreement in 2017. From 2010 to 2013\, she served as the CTA's Vice President of Infrastructure where\, among other projects\, she oversaw the design and construction for the Red North Seven Stations project\, including Lawrence and Argyle stations\, and the design for the Wilson Station project.  She is currently leading over $7 Billion of projects in the planning phase\, including the Red Line Extension\, the Forest Park Blue Line Rehabilitation and the CTA's All Stations Accessibility Plan.  Carole is a graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Illinois College of Law.
