Join the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Northside Community Justice Center in partnership with the Uptown Chamber of Commerce and the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce for an overview of the pretrial provisions of the SAFE-T Act. The Pretrial Fairness Act (PFA) eliminates cash bond as a condition of pretrial release. The PFA also requires pretrial release for most misdemeanors and nonviolent felonies. During this event, businesses can ask questions, express concerns to our staff members regarding pretrial release and public safety and gain a better understanding of the role the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office plays in the implementation of these new laws. We are excited to see you for this community-based conversation.
This is a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual opportunities to join:
IN-PERSON - Truman College, McKeon Building, Room 146
VIRTUAL - a meeting link will be sent to all who have RSVP'd prior to the presentation.
